A paper beak gives a turkey craft a clear focal point. This printable offers a simple pointed shape that children can add to a face, puppet, or mask project. It is useful when the class is assembling birds from separate pieces and you want a consistent starting size without drawing every beak by hand.

What to make

A flat beak is the easiest version: color the shape and glue it directly onto the head. A folded version can stand slightly away from the face when part of the paper acts as a tab. Check the placement before gluing, especially when the turkey also has a separate wattle. The beak should not hide the eyes or fill the entire head.

How to use this printable

  1. Print the beak template and compare it with the turkey face, reducing the size if the point extends too far past the head.
  2. Color the visible beak area with orange, yellow, or an imaginative pattern before cutting along the outside edge.
  3. For a flat craft, glue the whole piece; for a raised effect, fold a small attachment tab and glue only the tab.
  4. Attach the wattle nearby and let the glue dry before using the turkey as a puppet or moving it to a display.

Make the activity your own

Make several expressions by changing the beak angle: pointing forward can look calm, while a tilted beak can look curious. Children can add a speech bubble and decide what the turkey is saying. For a shape lesson, compare the pointed beak with triangles found elsewhere in the classroom. An adult can pre-cut larger beaks for children who need support with small corners.

Questions before you begin

Do I have to fold the beak?

No. A flat beak works well for collage, display work, and simple cut-and-paste activities.

Where does the wattle go?

For a clear craft model, place the separate hanging wattle near or below the beak, leaving the facial features visible.
