A Thanksgiving bookmark can become both a small gift and a record of a reading moment. Use the printable to add a thankful message, a book title or a reminder to return to a favorite story. How to use this printable
- Choose the purpose of the bookmark: a gift for a reader, a personal place marker or a class reminder of a shared book.
- Color the decoration lightly enough that the writing remains clear. Pick one short message or write the title of a book you are grateful to have read.
- Cut the bookmark with an adult helping if needed. Glue it to a second layer of paper or cardstock when extra strength is useful.
- Write the maker’s name and date on the back. Let glue dry flat before placing the bookmark between pages.
Make the activity your own
In a classroom, ask children to complete “This book helped me…” and name a feeling, idea or discovery. A bookmark for another person can include a recommendation and one reason it might appeal to them. Avoid thick decorations that could press into a book or fall off between pages.
