Free Thanksgiving card printables make it easy to send a small, personal thank-you. The original greetings on this sheet can be used as card fronts or message panels. Add a handwritten note so the finished card reflects your relationship with the recipient.

Make a card from one printed panel

Print a test copy before choosing your final paper. Ordinary paper is easy to cut and can be mounted on a folded sheet of cardstock. A darker backing creates a simple border without needing extra decoration. Keep the message panel slightly smaller than the card front so its edges have breathing room.

  1. Choose the greeting that best fits the recipient.
  2. Cut out the panel with a narrow, even border.
  3. Fold a separate piece of paper into a card.
  4. Center the panel on the front and glue it in place.
  5. Write a note inside and sign your name.

Use a three-sentence note

First, say what you appreciate. Next, name a memory or example. Finally, wish the person something kind for the holiday. A child might write, “Thank you for reading with me. I liked the funny voices in our last book. I hope you have a cozy Thanksgiving.” The specific memory does most of the work.

For a classroom card station, set out pencils, colored paper, and a small list of possible recipients. Let children choose someone they know and decide whether the card will be delivered privately or taken home. For family gatherings, place an unsigned card beside each seat and invite guests to write a thank-you they can give later.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need cardstock?

No. Print on ordinary paper and glue the greeting to a folded sheet. Cardstock is an optional backing for a firmer card.

Can children use the greetings for teacher cards?

Yes. Encourage them to add a specific classroom memory or a sentence explaining what they appreciate about the teacher.
